1. Who we are
Moodie is operated by Luka Kremnev, an individual sole trader, who is the data controller for the personal data described here — meaning we decide why and how your data is processed.
2. Data we collect and why
- Account data — email address, name and avatar where provided by your sign-in provider, and login identifiers. Used to create and secure your account and provide the Service. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Your content — search prompts, quiz answers, saved movies, watched marks and your own ratings. Used to generate recommendations and keep your library. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Preferences — region and interface language. Used to localise the app. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
- Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser information, error reports and basic usage events. Used for security, fraud prevention, debugging and improving the product. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, working service.
- Support messages — anything you send us. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Subscription status — plan, status and renewal date received from our payment provider. Used to unlock member features. Legal basis: performance of our contract and legal obligation.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment data is collected and processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
3. Who we share data with
- Service providers and subprocessors: our hosting, database and authentication provider, and the AI model provider that generates recommendations from your prompts.
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Professional advisers such as legal and accounting, where needed.
- Authorities, where we are required to disclose by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the EEA, the UK and the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Retention
We keep account and library data for as long as your account exists, and delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period after you delete your account. Billing records are retained by Paddle for the period required by tax law. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and debugging.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us through the app and we will respond within one month.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and row-level database security, to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risks low.
8. Cookies and local storage
Moodie uses essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your region and language. We do not use advertising cookies. Our payment provider may set cookies necessary for checkout. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though sign-in will then not work.
